I learned thatit takes more motivation and dedication to be successful with online learning. Students may have the tendency to procrastinate since they are not face-to-face with the instructor.  As an instructor you need to communicate more, and troubleshoot behaviors early and effectively while following work policies. Offer alot of encouragement and guidance.

I have learned to utilyze asynchronous vs. synchronous discussion topics on boards help keep all students involved.  Students tend to learn more from each other in this setting, as well as all are afforded the opportunity to participate in their own time.

I learned that a teacher student relationship needs established day one. And that by being an active instructor influences whether my students will be successful.

That although the CMS is the same, all instructors will have their individualized approach, also you should be organized and detail oriented to ensure the success of your students and the couirse. I as well as the students need to understand the course delivery system and how to track student performance.
