Internships provide learning environments and outcomes that cannot be duplicated in the classroom.

Training plans can assist the student in relating classroom learning to its applicability in career pathway planning and experiences.

It is most beneficial to have the trust and support of other teachers when engaged in WBL programming.  Many have likely had had WBL experiences and can share ideas and contacts with the coordinator.  The team approach serves students and business partners well.

The WBL Director is the connection between community partners, students, administrators, board trustees, etc.. Communication and support for valued and productive relationships are paramount to the success of your program.

Liability is an ongoing conversation and has the attention of school districts and community partners.  The distinction between paid vs unpaid experiences is helpful.

Business partnership development and maintenance is crucial to the success of any WBL Program.  It doesn't all happen in one meeting, but rather over time and through nurturing the relationship.

I would like to have a central data base that was home to WBL Program demographics and outcomes within the school district.

All educators, administrators, staff members, partners and others have an important role and level of responsibility to supporting a successful WBL program.

Safety will continue to be a integral component of all training agreements.

I am reinforced in my belief that the training agreement is an essential and worthwhile component of any WBL internship or apprenticeship.
