Comparing and contrasting Super's Life Span Life Space Theory with Holland's Career Choice Theory was informative and insightful.  The exercise allows for latitude in selecting components of each theory and putting them to use in career support approaches with students.

There are many career development theories, and some can be more useful at time than others.  Theories continue to evolve as society moves on.

Wow!  A lot of information specific to good communication in this module!  I particularly found helpful the point made that acknowledging a student's emotions and concerns communicates they are deserving of individualized attention.  I tend to jump right in to the problem solving mode.

I am learning to pay attention to the primary focus of coaching - elicit responses/ideas/action from the student who identifies and acts on rather than offering advise and direction.

I really appreciate the GROW Model of coaching and having that meaningful conversation(s) that hopefully is an engaging one.

Career coaching has many components, and several identified critical factors can have immense impact on its effectiveness.

Assessing the students' internship experiences to be sure all learning objectives are being met and the on site supervisor is comfortable with the student interns' performance is necessary for a successful WBL experience and student  preparation of entering the workforce.

The relationship between the WBL coordinator and the on site supervisor is paramount to the success of the WBL experience for the student.

Ongoing reporting by the student intern as well as the internship site supervisor is both helpful and necessary to ensure the training objectives and student career interests are being addressed appropriately.

Internships provide students with learning opportunities not only in technical skills, but  in areas of professional growth, team work and understanding the culture of the workplace.
