What I have learned is asking open ended questions and getting close to what the students needs are. It is imperative to the students enrollment success.

I believe staying grounded and understanding your need for improvement will help you understand what is best for your professional growth. Staying humble and acknowleding flaws is best.

Having good energy reinforces your attitude towards others. Knowing you have room for improvement shows humbleness and ability to grow. I want to continue to always be growing.

I have learned that my energy exudes towards my peers and department. When I bring positive energy it creates a clear and successful atmosphere with my team. I want to make sure I am doing this often to get the optimum results and to make it feel comfortable for our department to work together.

I often read articles, that help me become a better leader, and great performances with our student base. I want to be myself which is naturally positive, but I also want to do it in a way, that creates superb results. Referring back to articles like this one, helps me fine tune my skills.

Our success has been listening, being relatable and follow through. When the student feels heard and you have sympathy for their situations and relate to them, I notice they trust you and want to work with you always. This creates a rapport that eventually gives your department great reviews.

Some failures would be, not staying organized in your paper work, returning phone calls or having an attitude with the students. This creates a bad feeling and their trust in the institution. That creates a spiral affect, because peer to peer conversation becomes established and sooner or later students will… >>>

Often times, I will do an oral explanation of all required documents needed and going over our school program dynamic. With the student base being very culturally diverse, often times communication is not clear or I have to repeat myself. It can become difficult when trying to explain. So we try to say it orally, and then email it to document what was said and to reinforce our intent to the student. For a third time, we will discuss it on orientation. This eventually confirms and seals all information needed for the student to succeed here.

Having a positive attitude Help the department fees strong and being positive at work as well as to the prospective student. It creates a safe working enviornment and it shows in your personal and professional lives. Demonstrating this reinforces the positivity needed to help others.
