The section on Global and Multicultural Fluency refers to the ability to understand and navigate complex global interactions.   

Differences in culture, linguistics, socioeconomic status are important to demonstrate respect for and to adapt to in order to interact and collaborate in diverse environments effectively.

Aspects of career management that i took from this exercise included:

Having a proactive approach to planning, developing skills, and being open to new opportunities and mentorship.

I also learned that career management is a continuous process that helps the individual and their employer align career development and the needs of the business.

I feel honesty and Integrity are two of the most important aspects of professionalism and leadership.

What are your thoughts?

This was an excellent presentation.  I learned that professionalism involves how someone conducts themselves in a professional environment, how their behavior, appearance, and respect for others is vital.

A person's work ethic represents professional character and their dedication to doing a great job as well as being respectful to others and maintaining integrity is important.

An important quality of leadership requires a skillful approach to influencing and guiding others towards a common goal.

The leader must have skills such as vision, good communication skills, ability to motivate, and adaptability.  Effective leaders demonstrate integrity, self awareness, and the capacity to build trust and inspire their teams. 

Engaging learners with different types of technology will:

1) Encourage active participation

4) Enhance better knowledge retention.

What i have learned-I particularly liked the concepts from the Tuckman model of Forming, Storming, Norming, and Performing.

Teaching students effective team building and functioning within a team will be vital for their professional life.  In medicine effective team work can improve patient outcomes, it can make communication more effective, and it will foster supportive environments for HC professionals.  Effective teamwork leads to better decision making, reduction of errors, and increased job satisfaction.

What are ways that a professor can effectively initiate group discussions?

What I have learned form the unit on verbal and written communication:

1) The importance of being clear and concise in any written communication

2) I learning a specific term "disciplinary literacy": which involves specific ways of reading, writing, and speaking when communicating with professionals in a specific field.  It goes beyond just literacy skills, but how students engage with and understand practices within specific subject areas-ours would be medicine and specifically nursing.

Students are learning a new way of communicating vital information.
