The five keys to work success is something that can be of real value to someone entering the workforce or a new type of job situation. I don't think what to do once you have the job is discussed often enough.

I'll be bringing this up in class discussions. Right now I tell learners that your goal is to do your job well, to make the next person's job easier.

I took a look at the Resources and they were excellent, downloaded them immediately. At least some of this interjects a little fun into all the information students are expected to take in on a subject they can be very unsure about.

Comment on Jacob Lazarov's post: I agree, the ideas for questions to ask the interviewer are very helpful.

I think I got the most from the sections on cover letters and using references. I appreciated learning about some small details like making sure a candidates resume is in a pdf format when attaching in an email. Also, having a formatted list of references ready isn't something I had considered previously.

I also liked the advice to have students imagine themselves as the employer and consider if they would respond to their resume.

I think one of the most helpful things for my students will be making a plan. Identifying their own resources, assessing their skills and  familiarize themselves with the processes of the job search.  So much of this seems like common sense to me but I have to recognize that I have years of experience and my students do not.
