Activity

I learned how important is to identify our student needs to support their learning, and to motivate them in their learning because they want to succed!

 

I learned activities such as "Pulse Point Macarena", "ABG Go FIsh" etc to keep my students engange in their learning. I am planning to give a try to these activities!

 

I learned the "story of life" to teach CPR to my students wihout my students knowing what it is being done. 

 

I learned that "event cards" can provide critical-thinking scenarions allowing the isntructor to reinforce any weak areas if needed. I can make some "event cards" and give it to patients in lab courses where they are applying the content learned in the didactic course. 

 

I learning different activities such as the thinking puzzle to reduce my student's anxiety and wheel of supplies to teach students where things are located. 

 

I have learned how important it is to practice before giving a demonstration regardless how many times you have performed that task in the past. I am planning to practice before every demonstration.

 

I learned the importance of giving a brief pretest to know how much the student alrady knows about the topic or how much they have learned from the reading assignments. I am planning to give brief nongraded pretest to understand the base knowledge my students are coming with. 

 

I learned the importance of well-written learning objectives. I am planning to be sure to write objectives to help accomplish students goals. I also learned the importance of keeping a checklist. I am planning to keep a notepad to be sure I have covered all the material and tasks for a specific day. 

 

I have learned the importance of becoming a role model for my students, and how to come up with a professional development plan to offer quality instruction. I have created a plan and planning to complete it to become proficient in a variety of areas where I need to grow more. Also, I am planning to project myself professionally.
