When it comes to developing assignments that internationalize competencies, I find it effective to create projects where students analyze data from manufacturing processes in both the United States and developing countries. I could ask them to compare efficiencies, cost advantages, and technology use between a high-tech industry in the U.S. and a lower-tech industry in a developing country.
