Activity

We recently transitioned from Canvas to Blackboard, so we are still working out a lot of the kinks. I have learned that when technology is not in your favor that day to pivot to another assignment or activity to keep the students engaged and working.

Keeping students engaged during an online lecture proves to be very difficult but keeping them engaged consistently helps the class flow better.

As a student I preferred asynchronous classes to work best with my schedule but as an instructor it is much easier to grade synchronous classes.

AI has so far been very beneficial for me as an instructor and I look forward to more ways we will incorporate newer technologies into teaching.

I have learned that by building strong relationships with my students I can help better motivate them to progress in the class.

I have learned to pay more time for individual attention amongst my students.

Student retention can be increased with better one on one connections with students. Walking around during class time projects to check in with each one or pulling those that are struggling to the side to ask what’s going on has proved to be very successful in maintaining that instructor student bond.

Paying attention to the different needs of different students in essential in maintaining their confidence and consistency throughout the course.

Showing up for your class and students which includes presenting yourself in a professional and timely manner.
