As you begin to have students create review tools such as crosswords abs wordsearches to challenge their peers, you will see them learning the content and defending the answers they have created. This requires a higher level of thinking then memorization.

Waking people up engages them so they ate more likely to remember the content. Allowing them to teach each other also cements content in long term memory.

I love the idea of using post it notes to label body parts-so much more kinesthetic and also visual versus just seeing pictures on power point slides. Keep creating these sorts of learning methods and you will see success in a variety of students.
