I have always admitted to the students that I had made a mistake or I did not know the answer.  I have always told them that I would look into it.  Just make sure that you get back to them as soon as you can.  You will gain the respect of your students.

I actually envy you.  I have been an instructor for 15 years.  The happiest memories are when I first started. Students because you are new will TEST you.  You just hope and pray you come up with the answer their looking for.  The first years are exciting and will make you feel you are on top of the world.  The courses are excellent.  I just wish that we could have taken them when I started.  I wish you the very best.
