I've learned to practice ahead, get prepared, and be gentle with myself as a new instructor.

Learning names is my focus. People want to hear their names. period.

Plan ahead, arrive early and CONNECT with people.

Professionalism is the key; maintaining yourself and setting an example is of utmost importance.

Problem solving helps increase learning.

Encourage the attention to rubrics and how we will be grading! Explain the rubric in full prior to submission.

Connecting with students before correcting with effective communication is key. 

Communication is everything; and personal connection is most important.

Meeting people where they are helps you to establish common ground and connection; which helps them be more vulnerable and increases trust.

I intend to focus on connection before correction and identification of at risk students quickly; document every interaction.
