I learned that networking and clear communication help secure good WBL sites and that employer orientation is important. I plan to apply this by using my connections and clearly explaining WBL to businesses.

I learned that training agreements, plans, and evaluations help keep WBL organized and focused on student growth. I plan to apply this by making expectations clear and encouraging student self-reflection.

I learned that a WBL coordinator connects students, schools, and employers and has to keep the program organized and updated. I plan to apply this by communicating clearly and making sure everyone understands expectations before placements.

I learned that building a strong WBL program depends on having support from peers and stakeholders, and doing research to meet local job needs. I plan to apply this by connecting with others in WBL, finding community “champions,” and being ready to clearly explain the value of the program to school and business leaders.

I learned that career awareness helps students see more career options and that good planning and placements are important for success. I plan to apply this by exposing students to more careers and making sure work sites are a good fit before placing them.

I learned that the training plan is key to connecting classroom learning with real workplace experience and should include clear goals, standards, and expectations for the student. I plan to apply this by helping create more detailed plans with students and employers so everyone knows what skills are being developed on the job.

I learned that starting a WBL program requires strong planning, clear communication and understanding labor laws. I plan to apply this by staying organized and making sure students, staff, and businesses are all on the same page from the beginning

I learned that a good WBL coordinator builds strong relationships with students and businesses through clear communication and trust. I plan to apply this by being organized, being prepared with information, and focusing on building long term partnerships with employers.

I’ve learned that clear communication at the start makes the biggest difference in WBL. When expectations, safety rules, and responsibilities are explained upfront, most issues are avoided. Using a simple checklist with employers helps keep everything clear and consistent.

I learned that safety, labor laws and clear communication are a big part of being a WBL coordinator not just placing students at jobs. I plan to use this doing site checks when possible, and making sure both students and employers clearly understand expectations before the placement starts.
