New Instructors

I can remeber when I first started teaching and I was very nervous and fidgeting. I tried my best to make sure that the students didn't notice me. I am now comfortable going into a new module and get right down to business.

I felt overwhelmed when I first started teaching, however, I made adjustments very quickly by preparing myself before class started and arriving early eased my nervousness. Also reading over the material is very important to ensure that you know what you are talking about.

Cheating students

Cheating is diminishing, students who have studied all day and night long will are not willing to allow someone copy off him or her. I also separate my students to one per table and this makes it very difficutl to do eye contact or anything. I also make sure that cell phones are put away in purses or backpacks to help reduce cheating.

Center Stage students

I find making the center stage student the observer works well, taking notes and passing out handouts for late students really changed the focus of the center stage student. I also find that the center stage student becomes more serious about his/her education.

I realize that having a syllabus and reviewing the information in class helps the student to understand the course better. Also making students held accountable for deadline is a must because they will have to do the same in the real world
