About me

Activity

This class is a reminder that as instructors we have a great deal of responsibility to our students. Positive attitudes and consistent fedback are vitally important to our students, especially those that are having difficulties. Continued involvement and encouragement  as well as learning new approaches (learning from our mistakes), will help each of us to have better retention rates. Thank you for the insight during this course.

Discussion Comment
The anticipation and excitement on day one should be approached by every staff member, all departments. Credibility is important but continued involvement is equally important.
Discussion Comment
I believe that setting the tone and identifying expectations on day one is vitally important. Just as important, I allow time to ask each student to share their expectations, from both myself as well as their fellow studebts. This I believe helps to keep everyone on the same page as well as giving the instructor information to individualise their actions for the term.

This was a very informative and user friendly course. In the ever changing world of regulation, it is great to have updates to utilize in our  day to day practices.

Selecting the best types of testing with all the different learning styles in your classroom is very important to help determine how well your students are progressing.
Discussion Comment
Using different types of assessing outcomes are necessary in most classrooms simply because of the different learning styles you encounter with each class.
I think questions during class are as important for the instructor as they are for the student. They are a great form of communication as well as validation of the material being covered. It also is a reminder to be cognizant of the differing learning styles present in each classroom.
Discussion Comment
I think it is vital to identify each students learning style and be able to provide a classroom enviornment that is conducive to those styles, thereby promoting learning, self esteem and encouragement to achieve their goals.
Consistent encouragement and using life experiences along with positive interest in the material helps to motivate students.
The more open minded the instructor, the more opportunities the instructor has to establish a better rapport with each student.
