Students stay motivated when instructors validate their knowledge and allow them to express their understanding. The student feels secure in their environment to explore their understanding in the classroom.

Helping students stay focused by reflecting on their motivation and goals has been an effective strategy during online learning. Students who are learning online may easily be distracted by a lack of space to study, family commitments, and work. I have learned to address the unique aspects of each student who has different ways of learning. I am learning to incorporate different tools to allow different perspectives to achieve the concepts and knowledge of a topic.

I enjoy learning about thought reframing because it helps to replace negative thoughts with positive thoughts.

Emotional intelligence allows individuals to understand their reactions before making a decision that may jeopardize one's role as an instructor.

Soft skills include having common sense. I was surprised that soft skills had 85% over just having hard skills in the workplace success.

I was surprised in the difference of value between soft skills and hard skills. Although hard skills are just as important as soft skills, soft skills are important for communication and teamwork.

Be prepared for discussions and allow students to form opinions. However, the classroom lessons need to be outlined and structured for students to have expectations.

Help students identify resources such as financial aid programs or scholarships during advisements. Financial issues can hinder a student's ability to learn because of added stress.

I have learned to allow students to talk more while I listen to address their personal concerns.

It is interesting to view the dynamics of instructors as entertainers if it is in the business perspective, but the objective is to teach and educate so that students can learn applicable skills in their profession.
