All students matter and that it is important to understand what adjustments you might need to make in your classroom to meet the needs of all students.

Following a curriculum is necessary for success.  Planning the unit and then each lesson will help a teacher with confidence and keep the class flowing.  I also like the Mulligan Rule... and the thought of building that into the classroom.

When assessing students be open minded that students learn differently so use different forms of assessments so that students can be assessed correctly in the best way possible.

Important to have plans in place when teaching bu also the ability to alter those plans if needed.

Although I am still new and learning, I believe it is important to establish student/ teacher, class/teacher relationships.  I am honest with my students and encourage that, while always being respectful, conversations to help me be a better teacher are welcome.  I try not to escalate situations if challenging students or situations arise.  I also set boundaries for subjects or activites and make sure we don't cross those.  I love the ideas of having community members come in for additional learning in wide variety of areas of study.  Always be willing to learn, listen, and try new ways to teach.

Important to set procedures in your classroom and hold the students to these procedures.  Always keep students safe and if it is a big project where you need more eyes, dont be afraid to have that in place before hand.

Working with challenging students or students that just feel like pushing your buttons on certain days.  I agree to have a private conversation and then steps to take so that this behavior will not happen again is most important.  Documentating is important and not allowing students to "get away with it" could be the domino effect of bad behavior or decisions.

I think the message of having a community of colleagues is important for growth.  Sitting with different teachers and spending time listening.  I also think it is important to stay away from negatiive, blaming everyone else for issues instead of coming up with solutions.

The definitions of the acronyms helped because sometimes there are several definitions.  It was a great reminder to set boundaries for students.

CTE has been around for quite awhile but has become more well-known through the years.  I learned quite a bit about the careeer clusters and sub clusters.  I agree with the statements of the importance of knowing the career opportunities not only locally, but also the state and region.
