" Critical thinking and problem solving skills are imperative to be successful in professional and personal life"

Incorporating this into class lessons are important.

SWOT Is a great way to encourage the learning process in the brain. Emphasizing Collaboration, Connections, and Synthesizing Information Stimulates student learning

In class we use white boards , at end of class after shop clean up and the students have several min. left before bell I will use white boards and ask them questions about what we learned that day. I guess its kind of like an Exit ticket.

Lessons designed to inspire Questioning Panels , using a Socratic circle, Having students work together to find answers to content. This will all promote natural learning process in the brain. Very exited to try this more often.

Productive Talk , small group discussion, Peer Q&A,  will help students learn, when they hear it through there own words.

I am using a similar type, I have students using a white board talk amongst themselves about a question I give , and they answer in a timed section. I can see formatively how well there learning and they work together to discuss possible answers.

Taking time for yourself is very important. A walk, read a book, Hike, Bike ride, whatever relaxes and calms your senses.

Trauma can make learning harder for students, behavior problems, students checking out of class, trouble paying attention, remembering things, controlling there emotions. Teachers should be patient and create safe , supportive classrooms, students will more likely succeed.

Trauma types - Acute, Chronic, Complex, Vicarious  . Seeing 4 F's and how to identify them.

As Teachers we need to be patient, flexible, and understanding we don't know what students are dealing with outside of school. Be aware of trauma helps us respond with support instead of punishing.

Most of the time we as teachers are the only trusted adult that interacts with a student besides there family.

knowing that percentage is so high that a student will experience some type of trauma is concerning.

Knowing the responsibilities of Teachers and how to recognize situations is key.

I have seen were technology has been beneficial to our students , they learn while engaging in something they use all the time, benefits include teaching how to use technology for good.

Work Based learning has been something the students get excited about. I have seen students come back from a job internship and tell the whole class about there experiences.

All students learn differently, that is so true. All students should have the same opportunity to succeed. I do like the phrase ( Always keep in mind Its not about what you are teaching its about what they are learning.)
