It is important to perform mid-course evaluation, so students knows where they are in their learning and to prevent mid-course slump.

Whenever an instructor is enthusiastic, it breaks the ice for the students, and creates an atmosphere for engagement and encourages students to share even when they are fearful.

Knowing the age group of the students helps the instructor to group students based on experience level; for example, students who are older grouped with students who are younger can be beneficial, in that both groups can learn from each other's perspective.

It is important to know the students learning style, and knowing your audience helps in building a rapport with students and attempt various learning strategies to keep students motivated.
