The Socrates method by asking questions is just a way to make the students think, use their thoughts and encourage them to participate .

We need to recognize that there are different learning styles. Not everyone learns the same not everyone teaches the same.  A good teacher will recognize those styles and utilize them in their teaching methods. 

I think the people learn in seing hearing and actually doing. You can lose a person with a long lecture. Make the powerpoints interesting with lots of images and color.  Nowadays with social media, and technology we tend to have a short attention span and we get bored easily. Also most people to not enjoy reading they read a paragraph or two then move on. 

It is important to make your students comfortable, remember their names, help break the ice and make them comfortable not bombard them with rules and expectations o the first day.

we have learned how important it is to keep a notepad because we tend to forget at times. A notepad and a checklist is good to keep us ontrack and organized.  I myself love to check things off because it gives me a feeling that I have accomplished something. 

I have learned to be prepared, have a realistic goal, if I make a mistake dont be so hard on myself.  Move on.  My confidence is important to have the students will sense it.  

This course taught me to to have a Professional Development Plan to become a better teacher. We have to keep growing and learning ourselves and finding new and better methods to improve ourselves and delivering the material that we are given to teach the students.
