To let the students know what you already know with your education and experience. We can share our hobbies as well which will have students asking questions that will lead to discussions and gain their trust to build an instructor/student relationship.

I have learned that as instructors we need to be familiar with the content that we are teaching, so when we deliver it its makes since and Students can retain it.  Will make us feel confident delivering and will be able to answer any questions.
