Activity

To more effectively interest your students, instructors should ensure that their teaching material is logical, sequential, and engaging.

Standards are the foundation of what an instructor is trying to teach.

Organization is a key ingredient to preparing effective lesson plans and successfully imparting knowledge to your students!

My experience as an instructor has taught me the importance of preparation and time management. I have experienced both the compression factor and not completing my lesson before the end of class. This module did a good job of preparing new instructors to avoid these mistakes.

The main purpose of testing is to assess what students know not what they don't know

This lesson drove home the importance of student learning assessments and provided future instructors with considerations to improve their assessment process.

I found the comparison of the Socratic Method and critical thinking to be both informative and interesting.

Blending auditory, written, visual, and kinesthetic (tactile) learning styles into instruction offers the best opportunity to effectively transmit your message to 100% of your students.

Provide variety in your presentation style and methodology to keep students interested!

In concluding the first class, students should: 1) have a sense of what they are doing, 2) have a feeling that the other students are not strangers, 3) know that you, as the instructor, care about their learning experience, and 4) have a good idea about what is expected of them in the course.
