A sense of community and belonging fosters a good learning environment.

This module helped me understand the importance of online learning/technology.  Very different from my personal learning.  

There are many reasons today's learners lean towards online learning.  It makes it more accessible for students to return to college and obtain their degrees while still balancing family and work life.

It is important to set expectations early on and establish rapport with students.  An instructor who sincerely cares about their students will have an impact on their learning.

It is crucial to have communicate with online learners on a daily basis to promote learning.  An active instructor shows caring and motivation to students.

Using different forms of communication will be essential in our teaching.  Every student learns differently and has a preferred method of communication.

Good reading and writing skills are crucial for online learning.

I have learned that I need to evaluate my own teaching styles and make my strengths stand out.  I love to motivate students and be their cheerleader!  Anything I can do to help motivate them makes me happy.

It is important to have good rapport with the students.  First impressions are important because it sets the tone for learning.

I have learned that I should always be professional at all times in the way I present myself, dress and use vocabulary.  I also have to remember to try my best not to become too friendly with the students.  I am a naturally friendly person and a people pleaser but I do not want to cross that line of instructor-student.
