In this module I learned that communication using social networking and social media are different. While it is important for students to apply this, it must benefit them in a way that will allow them to "network" with others while using social media responsibly.

As of today, I have primarily learned that the main distinction from a face-to-face class and online learning is that there are various tools and methods to research and make sure those tools will be effective and conducive in an online learning environment. Online learning also may required more time than a traditional face-to-face class due to extensive reading and writing assignments.

In this module, I learned that there is a multitude of the engagement process for online students and there is also a wide variety of how students can collaborate to work on an individual and group basis.

In this module I learned that more time is dedicated to an online learning environment than a face to face. Time management is crucial for distance learning. Many think that online learning is "when there is time" when in fact, one had to "make time and use it wisely".

In this module I learned that students will lean more toward seeking assistance from a face-to-face classroom versus in an online environment. While there are may types of learners in an online environment, it is imperative that the instructor communicate with them in at timely fashion so the learning process isn't discouraged.

In this module, I learned that the instructor acts more as a facilitator and that online discussions are to promote critical thinking. The instructor should be able to be a guide on the side and keep track of communication to make sure discussion topics don't veer of from fully comprehending what is important.

Prior to beginning the online course, the online instructor must be able to develop may forms of communication to meet the needs of the various types of individuals from different generations. Even though the older generation prefers much different communication that Gen Z'ers, the online instructor must still encourage everyone to communicate in different forms.

The message I conveyed is that it is important to role model which will streamline the communication process.

While there may be many ways to interact with students in the online environment, the correct type of technological tool must be able to provide a safe and effective way to communicate.

I have learned that there is no one way to use one specific tool as a learning method. We must many tools of teaching to maintain the students engaged and we must do so consistently.
