I learned that the length of a meeting doesn't determine its productivity; quality of content and valid decisions are crucial. Estimating sufficient time for meaningful discussions is important, and the commitment of Advisory Board members should not be underestimated. Meetings can range from 30 minutes to 2 hours, and meal services can extend the duration. I also discovered the value of using a customizable agenda template for effective organization.

I learned that advisory board members typically have deep knowledge of the industry in which the organization operates. They can provide valuable insights into industry trends, emerging technologies, market challenges, and potential opportunities. This information can help the company stay ahead of the curve and make informed decisions.

 learned that preparation is paramount. I emphasized to my students the importance of researching the company, understanding the position they were applying for, and anticipating potential interview questions. This preparation not only bolstered their confidence but also allowed them to articulate their skills and experiences in a way that aligned with the employer's expectations.

One of the key lessons I have learned is the importance of preparation. Many students initially underestimated the amount of preparation required for a successful interview. Through the mock interviews, they realized the significance of researching the company, understanding the job description, and practicing common interview questions. Witnessing their growth in this area has reinforced the value of thorough preparation in securing a job offer.

I've learned the importance of personalizing the cover letter for each job application. Generic cover letters that lack specific details about the company and the position are less likely to grab the attention of hiring managers. By tailoring the letter to the company's needs and highlighting how my skills align with the job requirements, I increase my chances of standing out.

 I realized the significance of researching the company beforehand. This research helped me understand the organization's values, goals, and culture, enabling me to tailor my communication to align with their expectations and demonstrate my knowledge.

I learned that keeping in touch with graduates is important to me for several reasons. Firstly, it helps me maintain a strong alumni network, fostering a sense of belonging and community among former students. Secondly, it enables me to provide ongoing support and mentorship opportunities for current students, as graduates can share their experiences and provide guidance. Lastly, staying connected with graduates allows me to track their career paths, gather valuable feedback, and showcase their success stories, enhancing the reputation and credibility of my institution.

I learned  that for resume building you must emphasize the skills and qualifications that are directly applicable to the position you are applying for. Highlight your technical expertise, certifications, and relevant educational background that make you a strong candidate. Showcase your work history, highlighting key accomplishments, responsibilities, and projects that demonstrate your abilities and achievements in previous roles. Quantify your achievements whenever possible to provide concrete evidence of your impact.

I learned that hosting employers in a career fair can foster relationships between the school and industry stakeholders. These partnerships can lead to collaborative initiatives, such as guest lectures, mentoring programs, or industry-sponsored projects, enriching the learning experience for students and enhancing the school's reputation within the healthcare community. Employers attending the career fair may actively recruit students for internships, part-time positions, or full-time jobs. This direct engagement increases the chances of securing employment and provides a platform for students to showcase their talents and abilities.
