I have taken away the realization of the differing types of diversity that needs to be considered when teaching students and how the lesson plans need to address this.

As a Neurodiagnostic technologist for 45 years I have worked with a lot of patients that fall into the ASD.  Even so there was so much more information I gleaned from this as to specifics of the disorder and even to the genetics and seizure disorder section.  As an NDT instructor this will truly help me with teaching students why we do Neurodiagnostic procedures and how to work with patients that come to us with autism.

There will always be someone that will be a challenge in some form or fashion.  by having open communication about expectaions and providing guidelines hopefully you can manage any challenge or disruption.

 

I learned the differences between asynchronous and synchronous discussions and the pros and cons of each.

 

I learned it is important to get to know your students and let them know you so as to have a relationship of trust to be able to build on to teach the information needed.

 

I found the online course charactaristics an intersting way to understand what needs to be present in an online course.

 

You need to develop your course with all the learning types in mind to have better delivery and understanding.

Greet students and get to know them as well as letting them get to know you.

 

Having a plan and being prepared no matter what that entails will go a long way in lessening issuess that could occur .

 

Model, manage and motivate - but never stop learnng and growing yourself.
