Great refresher on the "why" behind professionalism, also good reminders regarding handing student complaints appropriately.

It's important to continually remind ourselves of the acute differences between conversational English and academic language/vocabulary needed for classroom success. It's easy to forget the difference exists when you can have a casual conversation but then see someone struggle in a different area. 

I appreciate the reminder to refresh students regarding the disticinction between expectations that may have been placed on them in high school versus post-secondary education. It's important that we teach them the skills to obtain a job/career, but it's equally important to teach them the skills to keep their position!
