I love when students are able to communicate with me on what support works best for them since it their education and being involved with the IEP meeting if at an acceptable age to do so.

Using pictures is key for me and using sentence starters help ELL students better how to use certain or new words when teaching them a concept. Not rushing them.

I typically let students pick their group for awhile until I get enough time to get to know them and their abilities then I make small changes along the way without making it obvious because sometimes students will get self-conscious when sudden change happens.

Traveling around the class to keep students on their toes is key for me, but it can be a challenge if your body has to rest in between class periods. Overall, less chances for students to misbehave.
