About me

My name is Aleida Torres-Ayala, and I am the Nursing Program Coordinator at Ana G. Mendez University System in Tampa Bay. I have been a nurse for more than 30 years and a nursing instructor for over 20 years. Just recently relocated here to Tampa from Puerto Rico.

I hold a doctoral degree in Health Sciences, a post-graduate certificate in Nurse-Midwifery , and also a Master's degree in Nursing, specialized in Maternal-child nursing with minors in Education and Administration.

Love my profession and also love teaching.

In completing this CM 201 - Compliance Training for Admissions, it  was very interesting and helpful to start working on my Resource Notebook. During the different topics discussed, advice and suggestions were provided as to what to include, write or highlight so that it can be a very resourceful information guide in the future.

Well, that's exactly what I obtained. Once I finished the course I looked at all the information I had compiled and am sure that it will serve as an excellent resource to reference when needed. This is a very good idea not only for this course but for others… >>>

Just wanted to comment on our responsability of being in compliance with informing prospective students about all program requirements. This is very important for students who want to enroll in nursing programs where part of the information we must include, beside the basic program, courses, number of credits, must also include, information about clinical rotations, vaccinations, background checks, health assessments and so on that need to be completed.

Also, the fact that after completing their degree they need to take and pass the Nursing Board Examination (NCLEX) is also vital information that needs to be discussed during the admission process and what implications… >>>
