Learning about the different learning profiles will definitely assist me with teaching online; I will know how to respond and react to the stuents better.

I find the different types of learning styles to be interesting and can apply that to in classroom learning as well. I also liked the emphasis on compensating for non-verbal cues when teaching online, something that is sometimes overlooked.

I learned that there is a lot more to online course delivery than I realized (although I was not teaching online recently). However, what struck a chord with me was that whether online or in person, retention levels are correlated to the amount of effort from the student. I see that a lot with my students; those that put in the effort will learn the concept. Also, the other concept was that if students are actively engaged in the learning process, their learning outcome is higher. Again, some students would rather sit back and not take part in lessons...leading to… >>>

I did not realize students could still collaborate on group projects while learning online, through asychronous chat. That's wonderful!

It would be important when creating online lessons to break the lesson down into modules, lessons and topics, and be sure to create links so that it is easy for the user/learner to navigate. Otherwise, they could become frustrated.
