Activity

I have learned which information from students' files needs to be kept confidential and released after an official request is made within a stipulated timeline. Ensuring that other students' information is not released when releasing a particular student's information was reinforced.  This reminded me to be extremely careful when sharing information from combined grade sheets. I also learned about GEPA's guidelines for addressing FERPA violations, including the misappropriation of funds.

I have learned to be conscious of not using gender based jokes in class. I teach mental health though and some of those jokes can be referenced as a teaching example in diversity or bullying discussions.

Including activities for the students to connect with the instructor and their peers is very important. Student interaction facilitates students interest and responsibility for their learning and also contributing to that of their peers.

I learned how to effectively manage an e-learning course.I acquired knowledge on how I could detect and address issues with participants to ensure their learning goals are met and good attrition rates are maintained.
