Knowing what motivates each student is essential to their success in the program. As teachers we can help  them   by knowing them and what motivates them. We need to be excited about what we teach and show them how the material is relevant to their career and success.

The segment on participation was very helpful. Using small groups to get the more shy students involved and the suggestions for ways to reign in the talkers was very informative.

The importance of creating and engaging learning enviornment was very helpful as well as making their education personal. I also think the point about making sure the students know that what they are learning is also what is expected in the real world was aslo very important.

It is difficult for me to remember names. I need to come up with a system to do that. Also just putting students at ease during the first class.

I really liked the video where the instructor got to class half hour early to get to know the students. I definitely will incorporate that into my teaching routine.
