Yes agree! The course made you think about other ways to process learning. I am pleased with the course too.

Some ideas toward handling scope creep are:

-breath and meditate on the problem before making a decision

-sleep on the problem for a day or two providing deadlines will be met

-clarify ideas on problems by communicating to stakeholders and maybe a possible internal workplace blog or threaded discussion

-getting everyones ideas involved can give the project manager a more enhanced way in making a sound logical decision

Yes totally agree. Online learning can occur as most effective when a student is energized and confident as being in a threaded asynchronous discussion. If a student is in synchronous live chat discussion then the pressures toward conforming to learning the material online can be an arduous task. Students can release and accumulate more information in a threaded discussion. I taught at a university and had synchronous live chat discussions weekly for two hours in going through 21 chapters in eight weeks. So as a fact I know students do not respond well in a militaristic synchronous live chat discussion.… >>>

Hi Tina, Yes from my experiences teaching online and in the classroom and also being a student online and in the classroom there are a plethora of lines that have been crossed in the online environment. If you are taking courses in an academic setting and learning online can be an advantage. My suggested opinions from talking to in-class and online instructors is that colleges and universities will in the future most likely go all online. Why not now? For example, just like print newspapers are not all automatically online and still has print versions for their customers. Instructors are… >>>

If instructors are always stressed out about students then they should possibly move into another line of work. To be an instructor, etc. totally means YOU must LOVE people. A people person is defined as dealing with all kinds and walks of life ethically and professionally in the classroom and outside the classroom on a daily basis. If an instructor has arrogance about them then trying to connect the coursework material to students will be an arduous task to the instructor. Students on day one of the semester or school year will automatically detect what kind of instructor they will… >>>

Managing stress in the workplace especially in a school setting is crucial to students learning. When a student ask a ridiculous question you have to remind yourself that you were once a student and were very confused on a subject matter. Instructors are looked upon as authoritative leaders in their field. Instructors are always on and viewed by students even not being in the classroom. Also a component in managing stress can be from an instructor’s upbringing from their family. Another component can be an instructor’s personality being an introvert or extrovert, etc. also has a significant difference in the… >>>

My experiences utilizing a conversion grading scale works great for students. A conversion grading scale is like a “To Do List.” Instructor review students answers toward viewing and hitting all the points for the exam in my case was a Microsoft office college course. My outcome toward using a conversion grading scale was very positive for students. I have also given students a brief review of the material because exams were cumulative on chapters.

Most instructors eat healthy and exercise regularly still experience stress. Possible viewpoints toward ergonomic setup for instructors using a computer, desk, chair, etc. are crucial toward managing stress. Some helpful tips for instructors sitting in front of a computer are for the: -chair should be adjustable height with lumbar support for lower back and seat back angle 90° -90° knee angle to the floor as feet should be on the floor in other cases a foot rest for shorter people -wrists should be straight directed toward the computer keyboard on desk -viewing angle distance 18-24 inches toward computer screen These… >>>

There are many differences between quite and loud students in the online learning world. Quite students may tend to need more encouragement to ensure their success and participation is welcomed and not discouraged in the online course. On the other hand loud students that talk so much that the quality of the responses does not make any sense on what is being asked by the instructor in the online course. So it is like a swinging pendulum where a happy medium needs to be met. I look at the students making progress on communicating in an appropriate fashion with quality… >>>

Synchronous learning is effective and should be used slightly in courses. Asynchronous learning should be used throughout the course where students can post an intelligent, lengthy response to the instructor in the course. Instructors will have time to respond back to the student with feedback on quality responses. Asynchronous must be most effective because this training certificate that we are completing now at CEE is a threaded asynchronous learning tool. So based on the effectiveness on asynchronous learning is the best route to go from my expert opinion including the way this course is designed and used by The Center… >>>
