The value in badges as students work towards their degree; badges show experience.

At the beginning of the class, I share with the student the power of searching out a "how to" via Youtube.  I don't have all the answers about how to use Chromebook so I encourage them to look it up. 

I think of ways that a nurse might use technology to interact with a patient at various stages of the process.  For example, discussing the backend of the database when the patient is actually signing in for an appointment.

Applying the relevance of each course to how it will be used on the job takes learning to a new level.  It is a motivator to the student when they see the value in the course.
