Hi Dell,

Missing immediate verbal feedback is a very critical element to online learning. you have gained valuable experience and understanding of the great importance.

Hi Heidi,

Technology is a pace setter. We have to be broad minded and step back to make sure it is the best tool for learning. When pagers first emerged, I looked at it as a teen thing. I soon found myself using a pager for communication to my teenage daughter. Then cell phones took over. I often said, "If they really want to talk to me, they will call when I am home". Now, I will not leave the house without my cell phone. Then Ipads, skype, facebook, and on and on...I find when students surf the internet they… >>>

Hi Jill,

The design of self-driving cars has positive social impacts in the United States. Elderly or disable people who have previously been immobile will be able to transport to different locations.  Self-driving cars will engage the economic impact by increasing the amount of money spent, thus increasing the tax base and support of local businesses. On the other hand, there are negative aspects of self-driving cars. The units depend on the operation of global positioning systems (GPS) units. When signals to and from these units are interrupted, the self-driving cars are not operable. People will not feel safe… >>>

I love teaching science, especially environmental science. Most students enter my class stating they have had no activity with environmental science or the most they have had is recycling. They leave realizing they are a big component of the environment. We are responsible for making it better and responsible for making it worst. My challange is just to make you know you are responsible. It is up to you the direction it goes.

I try to use as many hands on and virtual labs as possible. Students realy like getting involved and even allowing their children to get involved. Kids… >>>

Science instructors who need exciting and very informative virtual labs. The labs are usueally accompanied with videos and activity ssheets.

There are so many different point of views. I have updated many of my best management practices. I think this is helpful in keeping me up to date with media tools.

Coming from a traditional school, I find it hard to teach as many of the basics students need. Maybe they do not need as much from one course. I teach Environmental Science and most of the time I skip the formulas, math and chemistry, just to get in the major concepts. For example, one week is global warming. Students poat to the discussion question and respond to two other students. This leaves out the hydrological cycle, nitrogen cycle, phosphorus cycle, chemical reactions, hazardous waste, not to mention the biological equations.

I seem to be teaching enough for them to be… >>>
