I understand my role as an instructor. This course also explained how to stay neutral when students are upset.  This was helpful.  

Everyone learns differently varying your teacher style will help all students learn effectively.

I like the idea of pictures to remember students.  I usually have students write on an index card on why they are pursuing a degree, and when they are having difficulties we go over their reasons to continue. 

Setting the tone, proper documentation, and being prepared. Leading by example.

Lead by example. However, please do not make your students think you are more intelligent than them.
