I’ve learned that supporting students with disabilities is to ensure they have equal access to education.

I learned that the accommodation process is about working with the disability services office to make sure students with disabilities get the support they need to have equal access in class.

I learned that discussion boards, and learning management systems help keep students engaged and connected in a virtual classroom. 

I learned that schools have legal obligations to ensure students with disabilities have equal access to education through accommodations and support

FERPA and HIPPA are very similar in a lot of aspects. 

Make sure to keep student records in a secure area 

This really shows what information is sensitive and lays out a clear outline of how to help out students 

FERPA protects the students and the families as well as the school 

I plan to apply this by actively participating in educational efforts, and supporting a culture of accountability and safety among peers.

 I will apply this by supporting transparency and accountability in any campus investigations I may witness.
