Activity

Problem based learing gets the students to avtively particpate in things that matter to them.

Active learning for online students takes more time and effort on the side of the instructor. No longer is it available to just be reading "scripts" but must now think of new and insightful ways to engage the student into the learing system.

Active learning seems more engaging for the instructor as well as the student. Instead of reading a script, I am keeping the students engaged thru Immersion, self-reflection, team work, and deadlines, to name but a few. The responsibiilty of learning is on the student and not the instructor, helping them see the importance of their education and being fully invested in it. It's a whole new world opened up to them. kj

I'm going to investigate the varioius tools and see which works best.

I see the importance of approaching my courses holistically, and not thru a single lense. I need to evaluate the course thru varioius methods as well as teach from various angles. No class of students are the exact same. Definitely!

I'm seeing the importance of scaffolding and how it can help or hinder the students learning.

I see the importance of understanding your students knowledge base and learning needs. Consistency in time and template will keep the students from becoming anxious or unfamilar with navigating the system.

Organization is one of the biggest lessons I took away from this. It's also important to decide which works better for your class, synchronis vs asynchronise.

I need to understand my teaching style and the best products to use. It will help enhance the learning of my students.
