I learned that synchronous discussion is most helpful with one student. While the majority of the class should be done in an asynchronous approach.

I learned the effectiveness of describing yourself in a brief bio to better connect with the students and build trust.

I learned that there are was to support students even when it is an online course.

I learned to use a variety of tools to keep students engaged.

I have learned that introducing yourself and giving background on your professional experience will help establish you as a leader and example that students can look up to.

It never occurred to me before to use a checklist when instructing to check if I had covered the critical points I wanted to address. This is a great tool! Especially helpful for when I could get lost in one topic.

I have learned that modeling what is expected of the students is an important step in instructing. Such as, modeling professionalism by the way I am dressed and how I conduct myself.
