I have learned about students rights to access their own educational information following ferpa guidelines, including scenarios where there may be a hold on a students account, and how to handle the situation while protecting both the student and institution.

This module gave me a deeper understanding of FERPA and types of instances where the school is able to give information to government officials or students who are considered a dependent, etc.

This module covered FERPA and student privacy, which is important to my role as an admissions specialist as to not unintentionally violate students privacy by sharing information with anyone who is not authorized or granted permission by the student.

I have learned about where to find important resources that relate to my role, and best practices for keeping up to date on changes with those resources. Maintain updated, important, and relevant information in a resource notebook to be successful in my role.

This module discussed advertising as it relates to florida law, individual institutions, and best practices.

It is important to stay consistent and organized with my institutions admissions requirements and documents as well as adhering to the law and fair consumer practices.

I have learned from this module the importance of learning correct terminology and legal protections for schools and students as it relates to college admissions.
