I have found that group work can be very effective in highlighting the various strengths and learning styles of diverse students. 

Recognizing learner preferences can create help create a positive learning environment and understanding learner challenges can address difficulties and stumbling blocks.

Literacy is expressed through various forms of language and not just the spoken word.

Each student is different and those differences enhance the learning environment for all when recognized and appropriate instruction strategies are used.

Each individual brings their own unique set of life experiences to the learning environment and each has particular strengths and challenges that can enhance their learning. To know your students is to learn how best to teach and to capitalize on their life experiences.
