Activity

Staying consistent with appropriate responses to e mails and keeping all records organized will help help in classroom management.  Quick responses to e mails and chats will keep the student engaged and avoid them feeling that they are supported by their instructor.  Behavioral and personal problems should always be handled privately and guidelines provided.

Using asynchronous discussion methods will help the students in all of their learning styles.  Instructor posts and responses will keep the student engaged and able to feel that they are a part of the learning environment.  Instructor responses require quality feedback that the student understands.

Providing a biography of yourself allows the students to feel important and included as a person not just as a part of the class.  Having the student provide a biography of themselves shows that the instructor is interested in getting o know them and the things that are important to them.  Sharing the biographies creates a classroom environment that will allow the students to know each other better and engage more as a class.

I have learned that you will be a much more effective instructor if you are completely competent and confident with the entire program.  One of the most important thing in instruction for me is to keep the student interested and engaged and this program can help.  Students can feel more included in their education.  All students learn differently and it is important to make the courses useful to all students.
