Activity

Storytelling is sometimes helpful in my personal finance courses to share experiences that have helped me learn different concepts. I think students retain that information better.

I hope to apply more service learning opportunities for my students.

The reflection part of the evaluation is so important. The idea of pass/fail is one that I have no implemented that is interesting to me.

Service learning connects the community and students in a way that is practical and meaningful. There is also benefical learning that can happen during the experience.

Chat GPT as a tool is so powerful and I see more advantages to it for educators than disadvantages. It is being used widely in industry so that is also an important factor for teachers to get on board with it.

Using Chat GPT has helped save me so much time, I especially love it for finding examples to specific concepts. It is also helpful to change the tone of an email or message to be more professional or reasonable.

I learned the many benefits and downfalls of Chat GPT. The bias element is something I don't think my students recognize and so being aware and sharing that with them is very important to me.

I learned that AI has actually been around a lot longer than I realized.

The tax, insurance, debt and budgeting concepts for different career paths are considerations I did not consider. It is important to keep those at the forefront when discussing with students financial literacy.

There were new resources such as Bonzi that was listed that I did not know about. In the state I teach, personal finance is a graduation requirement so everyone takes it. Having good resources with varying types of content is helpful to keep it relevant to students.
