About me

I teach high school business and marketing as well as sponsor DECA.

Activity

Something I need to add to my internship program is beginning expectations and more documentation.

One of the most important parts of an internship is getting students out of the traditional classroom setting. I find it often helps students be more professional and rise to the standards that the workplace sets for them.

Sustainable planning systems will help me become more comfortable writing prompts for AI and understanding how it works for both my students and me.

There are many small but important details to consider when working with students in career and technical education. While AI can be a helpful tool, we are ultimately the experts. To receive effective support that benefits both you and your students, it is essential to provide clear and detailed prompts when using AI.

The suggestion to start small with using AI as a teacher tool is great advice. It can be overwhelming at the start so finding a small time saving application is best to see how it can help you in your classroom.

Storytelling is sometimes helpful in my personal finance courses to share experiences that have helped me learn different concepts. I think students retain that information better.

I hope to apply more service learning opportunities for my students.

The reflection part of the evaluation is so important. The idea of pass/fail is one that I have no implemented that is interesting to me.

Service learning connects the community and students in a way that is practical and meaningful. There is also benefical learning that can happen during the experience.

Chat GPT as a tool is so powerful and I see more advantages to it for educators than disadvantages. It is being used widely in industry so that is also an important factor for teachers to get on board with it.
