Engagement is the key to success in the active learning environment. I will be looking to use more group activities in the classroom which cause the students to do research as a group, develop a presentation, deliver the presentation, and have another group provide feedback.

In this module, I learned the importance of promoting an active learning environment for my students. They need to understand that the learning method might be different what they are used to, but the end result is going to be the same. It is important for the instructor to be motivated so that the motivation carries over to the students and the learning goals are successfully met.

 I learned that the skills I brought with me from the traditional classroom will most likely need to be modified in order to be successful in the online environment. I will need to relinquish control, and yet at the same time maintain a form of control over the classroom to ensure that the students are reaching the learning objective before we are done.
