how important good communication skills are

help student understand time management and expectations.  

I am excited to use problem based learning in the classroom.  A lot of the people who have been in the field a while and new grads i work with think their was is the only way.  I think if handled correctly  it could help the students realize there are multiple ways to go about achieving the same goal.  As well as going back and fourth to try to come up with different problems that might arise.  achieving critical thinking and open mindedness.

the increased time it takes to prep for a class w active learning pays off in the students critical thinking of the topic

there are positive and negatives of active learning but when utilized correctly the student has a true understanding of the subject vs the ability to regurgitate the information

My classes are long.  I plan to utilize the gameshow reviews often.  Try to make it more engaging than just normal q and as.

i am going to start including more (emotional) stratigies and closing statements to make sure people and student feel heard. 

how important it is to create an positive online presence. It brought to mind a early onlie class in 2000 i took and how horrible it was bc you just heard the teach drone on in the back ground and all you saw where slides.  No body language no facial expressions no anything to change the view, flow,  or anything.  Now i know how that class could have been a lot better

I was at the very begining of online learning.  Times have changed. I need to continue to learn about the changing tech and situations my students are coming from so i can ead off problems before or as soon as they arise. 

how important it is to be emotionally available but maintain the student instructor relationship.
