About me

Hello,

My name is Ken Sanford and I am currently the Chief of Police, in Muskegon Township, Michigan.   I have a Bachelor of Science Degree, Criminal Justice and a Master of Science Degree, CJ Administration from Ferris State University.   I started my career in Law Enforcement in 1994 and have worked as a Patrol Officer (5 years), Detective (9 years), Patrol Sergeant (2 years) and Chief of Police (4 years).   I began my teaching career in 2007, in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and thoroughly enjoy teaching the next generation of criminal justice professionals.   I am the father of 5 wonderful children and I’ve been married to my wife, Allison, for 23 years.   I enjoy spending time with my family, teaching, golfing, and being outdoors.

I'm farily new to AIU (4 Sessions completed), but I've developed a pretty good habit of grading essay/research papers within the 48 hour mark.   Most students will submit their work on Sunday night (deadline is 11:59pm).  I start grading on Monday and will alternate from top to bottom on the roster to make sure each student does not get graded the same time each week.   With larger class sizes, I usually complete half the class on Monday and finish the other half on Tuesday (within the 48 hour mark).    For those exceptional students, who submit prior to Sunday, I… >>>
