Detra, You are right. That snapshot can be very valuable in predicting pitfalls of students. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Darcy, You are correct. This may be the "aha" moment that they don't have to have in a f2f course as they are comfortable with the environment. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Errol, I love your post! You really use the self analysis tools as motivation tools. That is so smart. You can look into your "crystal ball" to determine pitfalls of the student. Great technique. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Detra, Great answer! It is easy for use to teach the way we learn; that is our natural inclination! Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Darcy, You are so right! We as educators have to practice continuous quality improvement. It doesn't matter if it is f2f or online! Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Errol, You are also correct that the first thing we must do is be honest with ourself! We need to be able to realistically discuss our strength and realistically admit our weaknesses. Then create a plan of action for change. It is always a circle. . . never ending; continuous improvement. I think all instructors should to this regardless of delivery method. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
roger, You are so right! I if you only "take stock" of your personal strengths and weaknesses once, you only have a base point; we do pick up bad habits. Good teaching requires us to reexamine and reflect. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Shelley, That is true, Shelley. We are the "institution" to them. For traditional students, the development of virtual community does not usually pose a problem, with nontraditional students, it can be a critical problem. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Peter, I think we chose shoes because, well, I have more shoes than I have hats :). I think you make a great point that is lost on many of us; we are the school! I am going to have to think about that more. Great post! Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Margarette, I love your great post! I agree that that we have to be the professional example and even the grown up in the room; even in a virtual room. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
