Juliet, You are right. They need to know that learning this tool will help them succeed in the course. I do think you have to encourage them to explore new technology. I have too many ask if they can just talk to me on the phone and not have to deal with this technology "stuff". That's not the right approach either. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson

Allen, I agree with you. It is different and within the online environment we have to look at our skill set as instructors differently. I agree we did push people to online teaching without any skills in their tool box. That is no better than sending a teacher to teach high school without classroom management. We set too many people up for failure. Also, we have know weaknesses to improve them! Great post. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
