Mark, Kudos to you for seeing the discussion board as the "classroom". You capture what many of us want in an online course, the feeling of togetherness of the class. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Mark, I agree with you. We had the discussion yesterday about the damage to the succinctness of writing done by making students write 500 words or 1000 words. They don't see the importance of the writing they only see the need of words, any words. (Just my thoughts). Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Mark, I love the live discussions; if you can get students to participate. Sometimes the asynchronous work better to engage students. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson

Janis, I love this idea. It is interesting that they try to solve issues when the could ask and many times ask when you want them to search! What is wrong!!!! :) Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Julie, I agree with you. I also think we as instructors need to really foster communication among students in an online course. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Colleen, I agree with you. Your interaction with students is crucial. You should model your expectations of the student. good post. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Colleen, You are right, Don't you think they also need to know their strengths? There is so much power in finding you can do something well. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Samantha, I agree with you. The more varied your assessments are, the better assessment you have of the student and youl Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
Samantha, great points! You are right, it does allow you to make the curriculum changes needed to improve learning. Dr. Kelly Wilkinson

jacob , That would be a great way to encourage discourse. They would have to be responsible for supporting their "claims". Dr. Kelly Wilkinson
